Carbon Credit Registration Deadline
Alberta Government changes rules affecting farmers.
Effective January 1, 2018 the Government of Alberta announced changes to the Standard for Greenhouse Gas Emission Offset Project Developers, Carbon Competitiveness Incentive Regulation, limiting farmers’ ability to generate multi-year offsets. The new standard states that farmers wishing to generate credits must be registered with a Carbon Credit Company by April 29, 2018.
Here’s How To Take Action!
If you are a current client of CCSI:
If you have had no changes to your land over the past 2 years, you don’t need to do anything. These will continue to be valid fields in our program.
If you’ve started to farm new land since your last carbon credit claim, or will be splitting off some fields under a new farm name, we need to know about these fields before April 29th of 2018, or you will miss out on credits for these fields.
If you have fields to add to the program, please contact us as soon as possible.
If you have never generated carbon credits.
If you are not a client of CCSI and need information about the new government regulations or would like to sign up to receive carbon credits, fill out the form below and submit it. We will contact you as soon as possible.
